Denim is gonna be huge for SS17, whether it’s clothing, hair colour or shoes, everyone will be wearing it, you can trust us on that one.
Denim stepped up it’s game in 2016 with clothing, but 2017 is set to take it to the next level with extreme rips, embroidery and embellishment all filtering down to footwear too.
Rihanna kicked the denim trend off with her Denim Desserts collaboration with the king of shoes Manolo Blahnik in March last year, with Gianvito Rossi, Tom Ford and Philosophy Di Lorenzo Serafini also releasing their own footwear collections heavily influenced with denim.
The denim micro trends have been creeping in since last year, with frayed and stepped hems on jeans being a massive deal, and if you haven’t seen the denim and fishnet combo, you’ve got to have been living under a rock. More distressed details are gonna be big for 2017 with ripped knee-high boots and frayed hem mules being forecast as two of the bloggers faves.
Embroidery will also be a big deal with florals being refreshed and reimagined as works of embroidery on footwear, jackets and jeans.
And when it comes to celebs, they can’t get enough of denim. Kim K is regularly spotted in blue long boots and strappy denim heels and Rihanna has been rocking her Monolo Blahnik collection, naturally. Kylie and Kendall Jenner, J-Lo, Beyonce and Gigi Hadid are also big fans of the blue stuff and are regularly spotted in it.
So basically, you need to get yourself a pair of denim shoes and be one of the first to rock the trend. Over and out.
